It's been way way too long since I last wrote to you here in PinkybellesShed but unfortunately my laptop had to go in for repair before I had a chance to schedule in the rest of this months posts - I hope you've missed me as much as I've missed you!
Anyway, better late than never (as they say) I give you this months #Plus40Fabulous post all about Christmas this year.
Last year our family had the worst Christmas ever.
It was way to close to losing my wonderful dad and so we had a quiet Onesie Day at home, watching tv and, well, just getting on as best we could but with presents for the kids and a big dinner.
This is why this year myself and Paul put our heads together early to try and decide how we were going to spend this year. We ummed and aaahed about getting away to the sun, but that seemed wrong and not festive enough. We thought about going for a meal, but that didn't seem enough and allsorts of other ideas came and went until we hit on the idea of going back to where "our story" started and somewhere where being festive would be a must! #DISNEYLAND PARIS.
When I saw this Disney Partner Hotel called the Dream Castle - that was it! Nowhere else would do - what 40+ year old who wants to be a Princess wouldn't want to stay somewhere called a Dream Castle huh?
So, as a "Princess" once venue and practicalities were arranged (eg Disabled access, taking my Mobility Scooter On Easyjet plane etc) for Christmas was chosen and arranged next on the list was - what to wear in #DisneylandParis that is warm yet still Princess-like?
I already had the perfect coat, which I had to buy earlier this year as soon as I had seen it on various blog wish-lists and ads on the internet!
Meet what I call my Female Sully Coat! I absolutely love it and it is really warm, now all I have to do is hope it doesn't rain because "Eau de Wet Dog" is NOT very Princess-like, I could end up wearing one of those oh so classy clear plastic ponchos so at least the gorgeousness of the coat can be seen through it.
Now, if you have fallen for this coat as I did, it is still available from Asos here.
Now, for the Christmas Day outfit!
We will be spending the day in the Studio part of #DisneylandParis actually on Christmas Day and as soon as I saw the fantastic Nicky Rockets had a Christmas sweatshirt - boom, that was the start of that day's outfit. I adore Nicky Rockets t-shirts, I own nearly every one in the collection because they are brilliant quality and the designs are just fantastic, a real curvy babe! The Christmas design is on offer FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY TONIGHT in the UK due to last posting day being 21st so if you are quick and reading this on the 20th jump over here and grab the best Christmas top out there that none of your friends (unless they are uber-cool) will have. If you are reading this after the 21st take a look at all the amazing other designs and start your own collection 🙂
Next big decision - what to wear that is "Princess" on the bottom half? Roll on the email I received from Society+ just before Black Friday letting me know about their BF sale which included the wonderful tutus I had been lusting over. Does it make me sound sad to admit that I sat up that Thursday night in the UK trying to work out the time difference so I could be straight on the site the minute the tutus hit the sale? Ok, yep I'm a saddo but I am now the owner of two fantastic tutus from them that I got at half price and YES - they are tutu perfection. Should I, at 46 and plus size, be wearing tutus? Judging from the media then no I shouldn't but guess what I DON'T CARE because when I want to dress as a Princess then I will and Christmas Day in #DisneylandParis is the perfect day.
If you want to feel like a Plus Size Princess then take a look at the tutu's here from Society + but if you are in the UK remember there is a wait as these are handmade and shipped from abroad but I can tell you as the owner of the Loey Lane Blush tutu and the Cool Gal Black tutu they are absolutely gorgeous - very full and just ........................ tutu perfect (and much to the horror of my hubby they now do a Maxi length!!) x
So, what are you up to this Christmas?
As long as its the Christmas that makes you happy then I hope you have a fantastic one.
Have you chosen your outfit or stuck for ideas - why not check out the other blogs taking part in Plus40Fabulous? Enjoy
Santa Baby - stick a tutu under the tree, for me!
